The "Zippo International Lighter Convention", ZFD's 3rd, was held in the Cafe Sonnenstuhl - not just buying, selling & trading Zippos but displaying collections as well.
"Z.F.D" - a harvest bronze finish piece of mine that was auctioned off for a charity of Z.F.D.'s choosing - the Wurzburg Child Cancer Hospital. At the end of the auction ZFD announced (shocking everyone) they were adding a matching amount - truly capturing the spirit of the weekend - hats off to their generosity.
The bottle of local wine I won
Some time after the show ended I went down to stay with Martine's family in Toulon, France.
There I got to meet a Kiwi legend - Tana Umaga, ex-captain of the All Blacks (the New Zealand rugby team), now with R.C.T. of Toulon - a truly gentle man who speaks great French.
